The new VC4 SIGHT GLASS

  The innovations found in this new cylindrical sight glass make it a worthy addition to the PS4 range. Just as with the rest of the product range, ease-of-use and safety were the key words behind the development of this new design.

   

  First of all, this product can be fitted in place of PS4 type valve bodies, as well as check valves and filters within the range.

The product's major innovation lies in its "prestressed cartridge" design, which ensures that the glass is protected throughout the product's lifetime, from storage to replacement.

Some of the delicate stages are:

Storage and delivery: The cartridge is kept in a polystyrene box, safe from knocks, scratches on the seal surfaces, and dust.

Installation: The cartridge can be handled without touching the glass and is quickly fitted between standard PS4 cross struts.

Tightening: There is no specific torque setting, so the operator can firmly tighten metal items onto the shatter guard without the risk of breaking the glass.

Seal: The seal is provided by a pure PTFE body seal, composed of a rigid PTFE layer covered by two layers of microcellular PTFE, ensuring excellent seal properties without subjecting the glass to a high bolt load.

Compatibility: compatible with an extensive range of chemicals from 0 to +14 pH, acids, solvents, detergent solutions and alkaline solutions (caustic soda), hydrocarbons, diesel, fuel oil, oils, gas, chlorine, refrigerants, sea water, steam, beer, wines, glucose, liqueur, etc.

Suitable for food applications: this equipment complies with the FDA 21CFR177.1550, 21CFR182.10 regulations, and is acknowledged as being safe.

Safety: The solid stainless steel shatter guard gives full protection against external knocks and internal glass breakage.

Precision: The upper end plate is shouldered to allow low-pressure fluid flow to be observed vertically. An arrow on the shatter guard showing the direction of flow indicates the way in which the cartridge is to face when fitted.

Maintenance: Maintenance is made easy by a like-for-like exchange of the cartridge, which is renovated by SGD MECA INOX.
